You and I have questions in our heart …
Questions that need answers. Basic foundational questions about our worth, value and identity. The questions are unique and distinguishable between each of us though they may have a common theme. These questions received answers very early on in our lives from our family environments, primary caregivers, peers, and social connections as we began to interact with the world around us.
From the “answers” we received a belief system formed deep in our heart and soul and that belief system became the way we see ourselves and interpret everything around us.
Our hearts are literally on “record” from the moment we come into existence to the day we breathe our last breath …
The health of our sources determines the quality of our answers. And all our issues stem from the answers we received.
When I was young, some aspects of the brokenness in the environment around me created the question in my heart, “do I matter?“. The answer I received indirectly was “no” or more specifically that it was just better for everyone if I didn’t matter because if I mattered it seemed to bother or upset others.
I believed my needs, desires and basic self were too much for the world around me!
This became a belief system which I didn’t know was directing my life underneath the surface. There’s a verse in the bible which reads,
“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Prov.4:23
What lives in our hearts directs our lives…
The past decade or so of my life has been a journey of discovering what has been “living” in my heart as Father God guides me into emotional healing. This journey has now culminated into the vision for this platform. As we walk together, I hope to share what I have received from Perfect Love. I want to let His light shine through the cracks of my humanity and create a space for you to explore your heart and hear whatever He may be speaking to you.
We find true rest in our souls when we let the truth of His value of us come and answer the questions our soul is really asking. I hope, together, His truth will become our truth until we can say,
“I am at rest in His love” Song of Solomon 2:6
It was such an honour to have you stop by here for a few minutes today! These “soul questions” will certainly be something we explore on this platform. If something was stirred up within you today, maybe even a “question” surfacing, I’d encourage you to journal and spend time asking Father God to show you more about it. If you’ve never journaled I have a previous post which talks about the benefits of journaling and some tips on getting started. Read more here
Looking forward to sharing the journey ahead.
