Brave Road: The Walk of Faith and Destiny

I recently released a new song called, “Brave Road”, which I wrote at a point when I felt I was being challenged to leave what I had known in order to step into what was to come.

I had a lot of fear.

Fear grips us and boxes us in. We fear a lot of things!

We fear we won’t measure up and that we’ll fail. We fear we’ll succeed and then what? We fear not having enough and having too much etc.

A scripture in the Psalms hit me recently stating, “I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears” (Ps.34:4 NIV).

So often, God does not have to deliver us from what will happen. He has to deliver us from what we fear will happen.

Imagine what it would feel like to truly fear nothing? Well, we may not reach that point on this side of Heaven. However, this scripture tells us we can be delivered from everything we fear about a certain situation. In other places in scripture, God makes a promise to His people in order to alleviate their fears. That promise is that He will be with them (Josh. 1:9).

When we encounter His presence He drives out fear.

This is what we need in order to face the challenges that come on this road to destiny. We need to know He is with us, leading us along the best path for our lives. We need to know He can and will overcome what is rising up against us. It is these encounters that foster faith and produce bravery.

Each of us is made for an adventure uniquely designed for us. Our Father, and designer, calls to us, “there is more”! As believers, we are not meant to be contained under the things we are actually seated above (Eph.2:6).

Bravery is the willingness to do things scared in order to discover what is on the other side of that fear.

I’ve learned that on the other side of my fear is always something I didn’t want to miss.

Popular author and teacher Kris Vallotten says, “the dogs of doom stand at the doors of your destiny. When you hear them barking you know you are near your promised land”.

Many of us lost a sense of hope and dreaming during COVID. The world seems to scream shut down and hide because you never know what’s coming next. We’ve gone from pandemic, to inflation, to wars and more uncertainty.

However, no matter what state the world is in it doesn’t change the state Heaven is in. The Kingdom of God knows no fear and is brimming with eternal love, eternal life and salvation. That is the atmosphere we connect with when we connect with Him.

There is so much more for us. Our Father can turn any daunting road into a path of peace. We just need to trust Him.

Can you hear Him say it to you, “Be strong and courageous for I am with you!”

He’s got us! We can walk this brave road because He’s with us.
